Ferrous and Non Ferrous Metal
Welding is a process of joining two or more metal pieces by applying heat, pressure, or both. Ferrous materials, such as steel and cast iron, contain iron as their main element. Non-ferrous materials, like aluminum, copper, and brass, do not contain iron.
When welding ferrous metals, high temperatures are often used, and the metal can oxidize easily. For non-ferrous metals, special techniques are required to prevent issues like cracking or contamination. Choosing the right welding method—such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding—is important to ensure a strong and clean joint.
